100 Years of Delta Upsilon at ISU: Challenge 2013   During the Fall of 2013, the Iowa State Chapter of Delta Upsilon will celebrate the 100th anniversary of receiving its Charter from the International Fraternity. We are talking just three short years away!   Wouldn’t it be great to come back to an Iowa State University Homecoming in the Fall of 2013 and enjoy a celebration honoring a century of ISU DU’s in a completely rejuvenated DU Chapter House at 117 Ash Avenue? And, wouldn’t it be even better if 117 Ash Avenue was filled to capacity (40 to 45) with bright, motivated DU undergraduates that were respectful of both their DU heritage and of their DU home at 117 Ash Avenue? It will be a challenge for sure, but it can be done.      Ways DU Alums can help   As the next few months unfold, alums of the Iowa State Chapter of Delta Upsilon will be given many opportunities to help in the various efforts described above. However, the first step is to take a few minutes and remember back to your days at Iowa State. Remember the education you received and the success that you have had as a result. Then stop and think about your life in the DU House. Remember the life-long friends that you made, the fun times that you had, and the important lessons that you learned that prepared you for adult life.   In addition to thinking about investing in 117 Ash, LLC yourself, take some time to call one of your DU Brothers. Share some good memories him, and then ask him to take a look at our DU Alumni website at www.isudu.org. If nothing else, ask him to update his “profile” and check out some of the pictures that brothers are posting on the site.   We have already received several commitments for the purchase of both Class A ($50,000) and Class B ($15,000) Membership Units. So, we think that we are well on our way to success. To encourage early participation we intend to create an escrow fund. If our financial goals cannot be met, those investing will receive a refund of their principle. More information for those interested in investing will provided upon request.   We hope that this effort will rejuvenate your many fond memories of your days in Ames as an Iowa Stater living at the DU house. Why not consider owning a piece of those experiences with fellow DU brothers. Think about becoming a member of 117 Ash, LLC….and then take some time to reconnect with one of your DU brothers. Share some good memories with him, and then ask him to become a partner in this effort.   Again, please check our website at www.isudu.org and/or give Jami Larson (Class of 1974) a call at 515-292-9083 to get more details. To get the ball rolling, Jami is in for two of the Class A Membership Units. He can also be reached by email at jlarson101@aol.com.
